Everyone is looking for answers to their questions.
When did life begin? What do I have to do in order to have a good life? What happens after I die? How can I be happy when I’m always depressed?
The list of questions goes on and on.
I grew up having many of these same questions and as I live with more responsibilities, the questions just get more abundant.
Why can’t there be one place where I could have all the answers? Why are there so many people telling me the right thing to do but they all have different answers?
Who am I to believe?
From my own experience, I have found the greatest comfort and best advice from having fellowship with God and reading the Bible.
When your soul is right with God spiritually, it causes every earthly problem and question to fade away and be replaced with peace. Not because the problem went away. But because you can rest in His abundant strength and His perfect direction.
Some say it is just some old book that has lost its relevance in today’s society. They are right that it was written in a different time and culture, but the Bible says God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. So why should His Words be seen as old-fashioned and out of date?
His commands and principles have not changed. He used men of that era to write the words but don’t be mistaken. They heard God speak and God used them to write His words so others could hear as well. They are divine words.
The Lord gave us many commands and, for the most part, they aren’t black and white. They are kind of gray, meaning, that God knows everyone’s situation is different, and every culture is different, but if we hold true to His key principles we will do the right thing.
His words weren’t meant for one time, but for all of eternity.
But what are these commands? How can we apply something we don’t completely understand to ourselves in our own circumstances? How does the Bible answer my life questions?
That is what I am hoping to teach you throughout this general bible study. I understand if you might not trust my God or the book He wrote. Or maybe you want to understand it but you need help. Let me show you it’s wisdom that will change your life, your heart, and your soul.
